The healer is a local priest trained in most, or all, of the healing arts.  
Healers need to keep in practice with their abilities, and so will often
cast spells on low-level characters.  For those characters that actually 
require effort to heal, the healers require money to cover their expenses
(room and board, tithe to local church, etc.)  To do this, type heal
, and your money will automatically be taken.  To get a list
of spells offered by the healer, simply type heal by itself.  Healers
are also sometimes willing to train others who seek to learn in the healing
arts.
