Should this lantern be made of gold? :P

Newbie weapons are fine, since they don't (didn't?) ever break in the newbie area.

I'd wholeheartedly support a newbie container that was carried somewhere besides the hands.

Having to struggle with dark vision is an important part of certain classes. Glowy things for free would underplay this difference.

I agree with Benzo.

No, the lantern should be the color of envy.

Backpacks sound great. Also, further lowered starting area vendor prices/ increased coin drop would help.

This is country dependant. Economy plays a lot into the price and drop. It's why some places are better than others.

No glowing stones (Good idea just it seems like handing it to them). Some people just have to figure out how to see, torches are good. Though something for sale would be nice.

Backpacks>lunch sacks. This would be one of the best simple changes.

Part of training a lowbie/noobie is that hard fight for enough coin to improve your EQ. It's one of the goals and best RP things. The more you just give the more people will want to take.

The price differences are really frustrating, though. Why is it over two gold to learn certain amateur and initiate skills at newbie school X while newbie school Y onlly charges a couple of silver?

Atleast something larger than the lunch sack. Make it a little bigger or something. The torches and tinderboxes.. something different maybe. I never used them since I started either. A couple characters later, I learned why they are there, but still avoided it. I think the availability of the newbie school gear on the NPCs could use a little more generosity in Teron Arena, perhaps. I never see the rings! Everyone's alts that never evolved has them!

I think the outfit command should also be updated to provide the last few additions to the newbie eq set (i.e. waterskins and torches).

If Dulrik will give me permission I will alter the container given at creation to something that could be worn on the back. That makes sense to me.
