Why can't throwing spears be thrown into adjacent rooms? That makes them kind of pointless, doesn't it? The only other instance in which throwing spears would be helpful would be in party formation combat, either to kill a support unit behind the front line enemies or randomly put a spear through someone's chest. IRL, javelins and pilums can be thrown pretty far, so why not into the next room? Why even call them throwing spears if they can't be thrown into an enemy far away from you?

If they were given the ability to be thrown into the next room, the strength of the user could govern the distance and damage thrown. Like... Only those with Powerful or greater could throw into the next room.

Opinions? Answers to my questions? Reasons why throwing spears can't be thrown into the next room?

I may be for throwing spears in cityscapes, but not wilderness. I wouldn't credit anyone except for giants with an ability to throw a spear for a whole league. And they already get boulders for that. (And never use them!)

I had thought that too. What about centaurs though? Aren't they supposed to be amazing hunters? They could have an ability to throw spears into the next room! I'unno. It was just a thought. I'd like to see the throwing spears throwable into the next room in cities and training areas and the like though, if not the wilderness.

Does specializing in a weapon also increase the damage it does when thrown?

Specialize doesn't change damage.

who actually uses throw?

I do. I think it's fun!
