Priests, Paladins and charisma

In all RPG's ive played, these two classes excelled when they had a high
charisma score. More diplomatic with their preachings, had better chances
to turn or destroy undead, and so on.

Is there some way to mirror something like this on SK?

Most people will RP the same reguardless of their charisma, but perhaps some priestly and paladin spells would be more effective with a higher charisma, like for instance sanctuary, holy word... It just makes sense to me that charisma should be a stat to invest with a priest or paladin, as it is with helions.

IMO, Charisma should display how good a character can channel his God's power through him.

if you do that, you'll need a sanc-breaking attack based on the Nadano rape log.

Boost theI agree with Erevan.

Everything anyone else said against that idea is crap. You should all die if that thing is not implemented. How can a non charismatic person be a pastor or instill fear, awe, give morale bonuses to anything or even ward others with the grace of his deity?

Do not be stupid. Do not be ignorant assholes. Be like I am, perfect.

I am completely against this idea. Priests are fine as they are, attribute wise.

References to stats below come from another player and should not be taken to be first hand knowledge of the game from me. I certainly am no expert, and certainly the information could be wrong... but from what I have been told..

The thing that just boggles my mind is that attribute wise, charisma would appear to be the priest's primary stat. But they you look at things closely, and discover a priest can have a higher strength and con than their wisdom, and that does make little sense. As does a primary stat with so little benefits (as compared with the bard, for which this added attribute makes a lot of sense for). I think the priest atts should be looked at. Maybe balance up wisdom, and take some of that charisma back down... on the other hand for the RP of a priest, having a higher charisma does make a degree of sense. but there is nothing in the game mechanics for this. Just seems to be an odd duck.

Perhaps if a spell like 'planar ally' Were to be implemented charisma would matter more to priests, but im not sure if game balance wise priests would be good with having a celestial with them, even if that celestial comes with a cost.

Still, I partly agree with amadeo. Charisma should not be the primary stat for the priest, but it should definately be the secondary. Wisdom first, charisma second.

Charisma should be a requirement for more things.

That is all.

Attribute maximums are based on your race not your class. Humans and half-elves get a special boost to their classes prime attribute, but this is the exception, not the rule. And for priests, that boost is wisdom not charisma.

I fail to see why a priest needs to be smooth talking and good with people. Their preachings arn't exactly friendly and peachy, except for Aludrans, and I guess Meissans.
