Not sure if this is a bug or not. I just started a sprite sorc...and I'd been doing better with my dagger than with magic missile, so I figured I'd spam magic missile for a few fights, and something weird happened. Now is it just me or did I take a LOT less damage than I should have? Just fighting with a dagger I'd normally take about 50% damage getting hit the same amount from this guy...and spamming MM I only take 25%?? I have no idea if there was even a difference since there's no snippet of you fighting with a dagger, but the hobgoblin, like many newbie NPCs, is probably fighting to stun. When fighting to stun, a limb/body part can never be severed or put past a naturally healable mangled, so excess damage to that area is lost. This is why sometimes you'll see duels to stun where an opponent will hit the other duelist for 0 damage multiple times when it was previously doing 8%+ a hit. |
