In a group v group pk. Bards rock, but like in another thread. That usually never happens. Either the bard is part of the summon gank group or the bard is being summon ganked. I have been trying to get every single train I get now in hp and it has done very little. I still get nuked by a warlock's magma spray. On Rowena and Felnoris. Well, you haven't come across a group of that consisted of many bashers. I have max int for my race, and I have aged once, and I still lose concentration by someone who can bash well. I think there needs to be a decision on whether Bards are more like mages or more like warriors. If they are like warriors then the need more hp and shield block. If they are suppose to more like minor mages then give them wands and staves.

Wands yes, staves, no.

But both would overpower them I think.

Bards are rogues. They are a little bit of everything. They get a -pretty- hefty chunk of warrior abilities (3 attacks and parry seems very warrior-like to me), a VERY rich variety of magical effects (including healing, support -and- damage dealing), and some roguish tricks (right?). They also get two unique abilities, besides their dances and songs. They are jacks-of-all-trades.

I suppose wands could be OK, since they have lore anyway. But don't they already have more than enough things to do?

To bad parry for them means they can only parry effectively another bard wielding a sword or a swashie. Although, any bard not using a whip and and someone in front is just asking to get killed.

What? Rogues get parry, bards do too, and hellions don't? What am I missing.

And to fix the low-hp part about magma spray, bashes and other associated risks, you type this one-time secret code in the game that's guaranteed to work.

tell ghent Hi. How much for half a dozen of mirror image scrolls. Thx.

You guys have no idea what you're talking about  .

It would be nice if Bards got shield block, but only because I play one.
No way in hell should they be allowed to use wands or staves.
Bards are fine as they are now.

And by the way, Bards can solo PK you and your mom. Solo Bard PK FTW!

Bards can solo pk? I just recently got my first two solo pk's. I was extremely lucky in both of those cases that they didn't do much of anything.

[edit] First the warlock didn't magma spray me. Second the deep-elf didn't use any magic on me either. In fact the deep-elf didn't use any magic on me. The funny that I have been doing is Me 2 others 257. Not really but it is way overbalanced to the others.

I have always thought that bards should have shield block. My reasoning has always been that if the other 2 adventuring classes can use shields, and even priests can use shields, then a bard should be able to as well. I think the point of the bard is to avoid being hit, so I don't mind the low HP, but I think they would be interested in learning every technique to avoid being hit- including the shield block.

But I've never played a bard past lvl ~20 or so. I have no idea if it would overpower them or not.

As for wands & staves? Are you smoking crack? They already have scrolls, which is enough and far more IC.

You know what I would be willing to never to use shield block if persuade worked more like dominate. If that was the case, I would never complain about bards ever again.
