My idea was more based on Rusin's comment. Possess a dracolich? GM Barb? Aha. ha. ha.

In Carmen's case, it would mean maybe wights or ghouls, maybe a lich, possibly the gaunt priestess in krychire. And it wouldn't just be possess XXX, XXX is under your control. You'd have to pass some willpower test or some such. And, like I said, only for age-death, and possibly an extended wait period for shorter-lived races. I mostly want this because I think it would be REALLY cool to have Carmen stick around for well, forever, and be the amazingly old spirit from ages past.

If there are a couple of restrictions (up to level 5 for <50 characters, up to level 10 for grand masters, and double manifest mana cost) this is not a bad proposition.

It'd definitely be awesome to possess, say, a child in Taslamar and have them act like the kid in the exorcist.

I don't see how this would fit would goodies, but as far as darkies go I'd say that possession is a good idea.

Lighties could possess NPCs in Krychire and preach until the character is killed and the spirit is exorcised.

On a similar note, I think that exorcist should have more of an impact if possess would be implemented. You should be able to exorcise people and it would banish the spirit to the River for a good while.

At first I just thought that something like that would propably immortalise chars but the later posts made me change my mind, good idea indeed.

I concur. I like the idea, but like Konge I also see some issues, especially for lighties.

so add a request sort of option. Either request the use of their body for an hour, or take it by force. If that seems overbalanced, well, kill is sort of overbalanced if you think about it the right way, too. Just make it drain more mana if you take control. The details might be complicated, or it might just be overbalanced. Just an idea.
