Strange, I don't recall asking for it, Carsetius.

Just because my ideas threaten your "vet" status doesn't mean you need to cry about it!

If you know anything about my status is that I am a complete and utter noob. Ask anyone! I have just learned to accept it and move on and try to do my best. I am just sick and tired of people like you bitching about how the vets > noobs. This is always going to be the case. So I again I come back to the suck it up or dont play. It is your choice.

Funny thing is, your posts have given the perfect example of how this game is broken.

There is no "middle ground", no path towards "elite" status, because those who are elite tell you to simply suck it up, you'll always be a noob, etc. This only validates and reinforces everything I have said here.

Thanks Carsetius.

I would love to see more quests in the game that require learning and exploration. Easy to come across quests. The type of thing where you start in the newbie school, do a bit for a NPC there and then they tell you to go to this person in this area (and a brief explanation on how to get there). So you get to the new area that happens to be a decent place to level, and there's a NPC there that will give you more quests to explore and learn. Then when you're done there you can move on to the next area.

This would obviously take a ton of work. A huge network of NPCs, quests, information, history and leveling areas. I truly think it would be worth the effort though.

As far as the rest of the things addressed in this thread:

I am fairly new to this game. I've been playing for about a year. I'm on my second character who I've had for about six months. I've been on the loosing side of this 'pendulum' and the winning. I have made quite a few friends OOCly as well. I love talking to them, asking them questions, and bouncing ideas off of them. I've played on the same side of a few of them, and against about the same number. There are certain people that I prefer to play with and am always happy when our characters can interact in some way (either as enemies or allies). The friends we make in this game is really what keeps most of us playing. I know there are a lot of you out there who feel they are 'holier than thou' for having no OOC contacts. Well that's fine. You obviously play for a different reason. But if you try to find a way to eliminate OOC contact, I guarantee SK will loose players. And that's not something any of us want.

As far equipment goes... maybe we should just get rid of it all and we can just flail at each other naked. I really couldn't care less on that point.

Why is it the games fault that there is no middle ground? Why is it D fault that there is no middle ground? The true is that it is no ones fault but the players are not going to change this is always how it has been. So cry more, or suck it up or simply dont play.

If more players would spend the time just playing then thinking up ways to mess up the game and make it "balanced" or "fair" we would have a much better game. People like you have been raised to think that life has to be fair. Sorry to be the one to break it to you but life is not fair. Nor will it ever be. So what do you have to do to get over it? SUCK IT UP and move on.

You are missing the point completely, and I'm going to stop responding to your ignorance. Just keep on sucking, Carsetius.

SK Character: That'd be telling
Nath, in principle I totally agree with you but, in practice it is up to the players to choose to learn. I have completed one of the larger quests, which takes you across the realm and in doing so looked to other people I knew had completed it.

Unfortunately, I heard too many responses like "Oh, I really don't know, xxx took me there and did most of it for me." Even to the point where riddle answers were not known, triggers to enter places, etc...

Those who wish to learn and explore will do so no matter the obstacles, those who wish to be lead will be lead, no matter what additional help you offer them.

I do like the idea of these epic quests though.
