 Post subject: Age Death idea

Here's something I've been thinking about.

The whole "You topple over and cease to breath" idea, while it works, can be modified to be a lot more colorful. Instead of seeing that message, perhaps a random message from a set of messages/scripts can be chosen.

Ideas... wrote:
-Heart Attack
You clench your chest in pain, as your heart ceases to beat.
You drop to your knees, gasping for breath, and die.

-Stroke
You suddenly fall over, unable to move your entire body.
Your head bursts in pain, and you feel yourself quickly loosing your senses.

-Pneumonia (This one could span over several ticks... perhaps separate each message by a tick or two)
You begin coughing slightly.
You start to cough harder, occasionally spitting out nasty green mucus.
You struggle to continue on your feet, and feel forced to rest somewhere. (At this point in time, you can't move).
You feel yourself becoming more sick as you loose the ability to do anything.
Your coughing becomes painful to the point that you sense death must be near.
Your cough *wtfpwns* you, and you die. (Sorry, just wanted to do that. :P)



Rough ideas, I know, but a thought... I'm sure there's more you could do then what I put here. If I come up with more ideas, I'll write them here... I'm just too tired to do it now.

Now if Algorab and Achernar comes down in front of people, they can die of heart attacks. In all honesty, I wouldn't mind seeing that.

I would certainly like some prompt that your health is failing, maybe a day or so before your death, so that you can have RP on your deathbed, rather than dieing on your own, oh so lonely :(

Why not have your health drop, as if you were poisoned, until you died? You'd have to prevent the person from healing by magical means and if they avoid age death for too long, by not logging in, they should just keel over at the first available moment but it would at least give someone a bit of warning so they could give their character a decent send off.

And yes, I know people don't always know ahead of time when they're going to die, but giving a small RP bonus to a character that has stuck around long enough to age die isn't going to hurt anything.

We do already tell you when you are going to die. Once you cross the maximum age, you could literally go at any time.

Thats half the goal of this really... but the other half is just to keep it interesting. :P

I don't really like this idea. Sometimes people just get so old they just expire. They go to sleep one night and they never wake up. That's a nice way to go. I don't think you need to die of phnemonia, or a heart attack, or some sort of brain hemmerage.

What I would like to see, is fighters gain something for aging. Right now, casters are in a win win situation in my opinion. I mean the affects physcially aren't to severe on casters since they can't engage in melee and aren't meant to take hits. But the perks are really good.

maybe you could not master passive skills until age-ticked, or active skills until age-ticked, or both.
