If the weapon that you are wear is one handed and the weapon that you are throwing is one handed then yes you can!

Actually the best trick with throwing weapons is to wield a one hander and shield. Make an alias to remove the shield switch too mood aggressive. Throw 8 weapons switch back to defensive and wield your shield. If you have trip and do so before hand. You can throw 8 weapons between combat rounds rewield your shield for the clash and then throw the next 8 next round. Now chances are they are now loaded with a weight penalty and you having had an extra 16 attacks have the upper hand. A dwarf barb with Fury and wild fighting throwing throwing axes would make for an interesting throw char. As a side note the speed of a throwing weapon has no impact on spam throwing.

My barbarian character does. And it works great. Sometimes I make use of their dmg, others the wimpy 100 of silly casters. One necro with twelve wraiths and one rogue 3 rows afar is my score till now. So yep, it works.

I'd like to see characters being able to throw spears into adjacent (non wilderness) rooms provided they are at least powerful. But I can't decide if such a change would make specific classes much more powerful (probably not because of the weight limit).

I have seen giants auto-fire with ballista. As in a gbarb being able to throw two ballista per round.

Can a giant merc spec in it? Get three or more with haste, and more accurate?

If auto fire throwing and one handed weapon works I am not sure why we don't see more Hammer mercs charging with a lance and throwing spears.

You can't do that. Carsetius is wrong. You can't even throw a weapon even if the one handed weapon you hold is a throwing one and exactly the same with the rest you are carrying/throwing. In other words you throw what you're carrying and not what you're holding. If the check shows you hold something, anything, then you can throw nothing.

Ibudon and cilek went through a stage of using throwing spears. Mainly it was ibudon cause I was too lazy to go hunt down all the NPCs for them, but I have to tell you, size large throwing spears with skirmish does some really nasty damage coming from a centaur scout.

I vote that being able to throw "one-handed throwing weapons" with your off-hand provided you are wielding a one-handed weapon and holding nothing else in your off-hand be added.

Throwing spears, throwing daggers and shuriken should count as one-handed throwing weapons -- in other words, no ammo and no boulders.

Maybe turn this into a skill.

Carsetius is right. You can throw a 1-handed weapon as long as one of your hands is free, even if it's your off-hand.

I've tested for this before and I just tested it again. It doesn't work. If you know a way to make it work, it is an exploit and I need to have someone demonstrate it for me.

If you have auto fire on, you should throw the number of weapons per round that weapon's speed (+ any specialization) would indicate - usually between two to four times and in no circumstance higher than six. If you don't have auto fire on, you should be throwing only once per round.
