This idea has probably been suggested before, but I will bring it up again here.

I would like to see tribunal leaders able to set a bounty flag on criminals. This would place their name on a list, controlled by a NPC, where players could see the bounties currently available and their reward, based on their crimes, up to a certain limit. When a criminal is flagged as a bounty, it sends them a private echo telling them so. If a player accepts the bounty and murders the target, it automatically creates an item such as "The severed head of Filliokwe" which must be taken and given to the NPC in order to claim the reward. The reward is taken directly out of the tribunal's fund and affects the economy likewise. After a bounty has been taken, the crimes said person is wanted for are cleared.

Bounties cannot be placed on banished characters, and vice versa. A command, such as retract, would be used to lift the bounty.

Not understanding why the crimes would be cleared. The whole point is to turn the criminal in for punishment. But once the bounty has been earned, the person should be cleared from the bounty list.

And getting put on the list should not be automatic once someone gets to X crimes, but there should be a minimum limit put on it. It's for more major offenders.

THe crimes would be cleared because the offender has been punished for them by the guy bringing in the bounty.

I love this idea. This would give a whole new dynamic to char concepts.

The only problem is if all crimes are cleared it will be abused. I got 20 crimes and I have a bounty off with my head and then use the money to pay the priest online over there to get a rez.

Bounty has to be tribunal activated to functional. Also to stop abuse via get my bounty and Ill get a rez only a single crime should be removed. Highest to lowest to reduce jail time. Or this needs to wait for the bind code so you can tie up your victom and drag them to jail.

You are never going to see a system where a player can get his buddy to murder him in a safe spot, effectively getting his crimes cleared with no punishment. And then on top of that, you want the tribunal's money to go to his buddy so they can split the fee paid for his "punishment". Think about these ideas a bit before you post them.

It would not be impossible to implement a system of checks and balances to ensure it isn't abused; limit the number of bounties a tribunal can have each month, so that it is only used on critical targets, for example.

That wouldn't prevent the abuse Dulrik mentioned. A better solution would be that the hunter functioned like the current law NPCs and stunned the person then shot them straight into prison. Could also have the tribunals appoint hunters that they can trust to hunt down criminals.
